If you are wondering the best way to organize your marketing activities, use the schedule provided in your plan. Working your way across the top row, let’s describe each column.
For Month, specify when your marketing activities start. This may be before you actually open your business.
Under Method, specify your choices of social media, print media, tradeshows, use of promotional items, networking or community events or what method you are using.
Under Cost, specify the budget for the activity. If there is no cost for the activity, use zero.
Under Notes, provide a detailed explanation and list action items required to execute the activity. This can be a to do list to help keep you organized.
Under Combined Totals, add up the ongoing total cost of the activities. If you set a limit of $5000 and you see after 6 months you are close to that amount, go back and review your activities or consider increasing your marketing budget.
